Lotus Court brings a modern twist to Chinese art
Cantonese restaurant Lotus Court in Macau was designed based on a unique artwork titled “Lotus Pond in Summer”, and inspired by the traditional Chinese painting methods illustrating nature’s beauty. Its interior infuses vibrant colours and a blue silk damask to reflect the grace of Chinese traditions with a modern twist, immersing guests in a timeless ambiance of oriental details and bold architectural framework.
The reception exudes a sense of mystery and romance, while a feature fish tank integrated into the backdrop provides a contemporary interpretation of a pond. In the main dining hall, the ceiling’s reflective surfaces amplify a sense of grandeur, while the lighting simulates the motion of dancing through space, reminiscent of ripples on the water’s surface.
Three intimate private dining rooms, inspired by Chinese window frames, layer bold colours in contrast to light grey lacquered panels to infuse the space with freshness and energy, while two others feature shimmering cast glass and oversized brass wall sconces along with a warmer colour palette of orange tones against light grey shades.
A poetic celebration of Chinese heritage blended with modernity, the design was meticulously crafted to weave luxury and rich culture into one memorable dining experience.
