Chalet Private Residence

Originally a traditionally Swiss house, this private residence was transformed into a sophisticated chalet, weaving together heritage and modernity. From interior design, to architectural detailing, and space planning, this project involved creating a luxurious retreat for a discerning client and their family.

Wood was central to the design concept, celebrated for its organic allure and intrinsic connection with nature. Locally grown trees were sourced for the rustic wooden flooring, exposed wood rafter ceiling, and fully equipped chalet-style open kitchen. Handcrafted details adorn the millwork and panelling, creating an atmosphere of authenticity and craftsmanship.

The interior design embraces a monochromatic palette of reddish browns and taupe greys, layered with stylish sofas in vibrant hues. Fireplaces were also essential to the design and architecture, where indoor and outdoor fireplaces share a central chimney.

By honouring traditional Swiss chalet design while adding touches of contemporary luxury, the space became a haven of comfort, elegance, and character. From curated art displays to the customised Swiss-style breakfast corner, every element plays a role in creating this bespoke sanctuary in the mountains.
